Owain Harris is our Intermediate Project Group (I.P.G.) host/demonstrator. Owain brings a broad range of woodworking knowledge and experience to the I.P.G. as host/demonstrator. I.P.G. meetings will be on a nonconventional, more compressed schedule, with meetings being held every three to four weeks, beginning on Saturday, April 27, 2019 and continuing through September 2019. Unless otherwise noted, I.P.G. meetings will be scheduled on designated Saturday afternoons, between 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
I.P.G. meetings are open to members and guests and will focus on a challenging furniture project. I.P.G. demonstrations will include topics covering woodworking techniques for woodworkers with intermediate to advanced skill levels. For the inaugural project we will be designing and building a contemporary demilune table. The project demonstrations will cover areas of design, drafting, and full-scale mock-ups, joinery techniques, tool setup and use of machine and hand tools, use of jigs, fixtures and templates, bent laminating, veneer work and other topics. For your comfort and safety, attendees should bring a chair, eye protection and ear protection. And don’t forget a notebook and pencil for taking notes!
Please remember to cancel your reservation as soon as possible if you know you will not be able to attend the meeting. This will allow someone else to make a reservation.
