Granite State Woodturners to Saw Logs in Ossipee on June 22.
Long time turner, forester, logger and log buyer Ed Witt will be hosting our June meeting. Ed has "found" some terrific figure and special effects in some of the logs that he buys. And he is willing to share a few secrets about retrieving those features as he demonstrates sawing logs on his own portable mill. We will be meeting with members of the Mount Washington Turning Club so bring a few pieces for show and tell.
Ed will have lots of blanks, slabs and boards for sale, so don't be shy with your cash! As always, the meeting runs from 9 to noon, with coffee and donuts to spoil your lunch!
The location is 92 Jones Hill Road, Madison, NH for GPS. For the non-GPS users, as follows:
From the south take Route 16 or Route 25 to West Ossipee. Head north on Rte 16 from West Ossipee about 1000' and at the blinking yellow light turn right on Route 41 (Plains Road). Follow Route 41 to the end and at the stop sign turn right on Route 113 (Main Street). Travel on Route 113 for 1.1 miles, go past Silver Lake Hardware about 500' and turn left on Forrest Pines Road. Go 1000' up Forrest Pines and bear right onto Jones Hill Road. Jones Hill Road will swing hard to the left and climb a hill with steep banks on both sides. When the steep banks end it is the house is on the right, a green split level with a mustard colored front door.
Hope to see many of you there, the mountains are beautiful in spring, if you haven't been this far north in a while!
